Some more photographs

Well, that last posting worked, so let's add some more.  If I had known how to do this last September, that blasted newsletter might never have gotten off the ground.

 Dragon boat on Beihai Lake

Tianji Market, the gaudiest marketplace on the planet.
The main entrance to China Foreign Affairs University, where we teach
The Gate of Heavenly Peace, on the south entrance to the Forbidden City and across the street from Tian'amen Square
While we were in San Francisco in May to celebrate Nate's ordination, we made a day trip into Muir Woods.

My prior efforts at blogging from China have been abysmal failures.  However, I just happened to stumble on this link today and thought I would try one last time.  These scenes are from Beihai Park; the first looking across Jingshan Park, just north of the Forbidden City, to the central business district.  I like this shot best of all the photos taken in China so far.  The second shows the island in the middle of Beihai Park with the Buddhist pagoda on top--an iconic image of Beijing.  If this works, I may post other favorite photos.
